CONTROLLER

ULC-2

Metaphase Technologies’ Universal LED Controller (ULC-2) provides independent true constant-current or voltage control of two LED loads from 0.02 to 4 Amps continuous (DC) with a maximum output power of 60 Watts per channel. In Pulse (Strobe) Mode, the ULC-2 is capable of output currents ranging from 0.1 to 40 Amps. Pulsewidths are adjust- able down to 2 microseconds and external trigger rates up to 50kHz. In Voltage Mode, ULC-2 output can range from 3V and 50V in 0.1 Volt increments.

DDC-3

Metaphase Technologies’ Digital Dimming Controller (DDC-3) provides 0-10VDC voltage dimming

control for three independent LED loads in increments of 0.1V.

The DDC-3 may be remotely controlled over Ethernet using Metaphase Technologies’ MetaBOSS Windows software or by third-party programs using the DDC-3’s Ethernet Commands. Additionally, user-adjustments of the DDC-3 are provided by way of a user-friendly LCD interface.

LC2-PWM20

The LC2-PWM20 is a dual channel, pulsewidth modulated LED intensity controller. It outputs 12V PWM from 0-100% at 100kHz to drive LED loads with series limiting resistors. The maximum output is 20W per channel and 30W combined for two channels. Power is limited by the 24V power supply.

FRONT

EXOLIGHT

The Metaphase Exolight™ is the most efficient and economical LED replacement technology available.  The Metaphase Exolight™ is best applied where a highly intense, yet widely diffused, light beam is required.  Isotropic lensing produces extremely even illumination and minimizes specular reflection (hot spots/glare). These lights produce high power and more stable output, with long lifetimes and low cost of ownership.  Standard IP50 rating.

EXOLIGHT 2.0

The ISO2 (Exolight v2.0) builds upon the world-renowned, groundbreaking technology of the original Exolight Series (ISO). The ISO2 has a high-impact durable molded diffuser that results in an appearance similar to a fluorescent tube but has all the advantages of an LED front and backlight. With its 120° cone of illumination, the ISO2 is an ideal candidate for the most sensitive area scan applications, as a front light, backlight, and some back line scan applications.  IP50 comes standard; consult your Metaphase representative for higher IP-rated versions, as well as options that include polarizer, quick disconnect and more.

SWIR EXOLIGHT V2.0

Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR), typically defined as wavelengths in the range of 900nm to 2500nm, is now offered in the Exolight™ v2.0 model. Short-wave infrared technology provides the necessary contrast to illuminate test objects that visible and ultraviolet light cannot provide.

ROBOLIGHTS

MetaBright™ Robolights provide high-intensity direct illumination comparable to MetaBright™ Front Lights and are designed for IP68 rated environments with an optional IP69K version available for all model sizes. Robolights feature rugged industrial housings for industrial work envelopes. The Robolight is a cost effective and “integrator ready” machine vision illuminator with an integrated constant current driver that includes 0-10V intensity control.

COMPACT DIFFUSED FRONT LIGHT

The MetaBright™ Compact Front Light features eight high powered LEDs, proprietary Metaphase thermal management technology, a built-in constant current driver, and a built-in Strobe with 10X power boosting.  The MB-CFL was designed for longer working distances and features a rugged industrial housing such as those found in industrial robotics work envelopes.

ADJUSTABLE FOCUS MINI-SPOT

This LED light casts a bright, crisp beam of light that’s focus-adjustable from 4″ to 7″ away.  Use this affordable light whenever you need a collimated light with a tightly focused beam. Without any additional focusing our Mini-spotlight is designed to cast a round pattern of light about the diameter of a nickel. Our Mini-spotlights feature a built in 24-volt driver, thermal management technology and a custom designed three lens relay with coated optics for perfect beam uniformity. Custom aperture sizes are also available.

SWIR HYBRID SPOTLIGHT

HIGH POWER FLOOD LIGHTS

These LED front lights provide both high-intensity and high-uniformity LED lighting.  Designed for longer working distance, with rugged housings for industrial/robotics. Features include our built-in driver technology and a unitized alloy body thermally potted for longevity.

ROUND AREA LIGHTS

Our Round Area Lights feature a high-density LED array and proprietary thermal management technology to assure maximum LED lifetime and lowest cost of ownership.  These lights are designed for longer working distances and feature rugged housings such as those found in industrial robotics work envelopes.

LAW ENFORCEMENT LIGHT

The Law Enforcement Light can be triggered remotely via a camera’s strobe output signal.  Our thermal management technology assures an ultra-fast recharge to allow the strobe to fire at rates up to 50kHz for high-speed digital photography or video use. The Law Enforcement Light is available in Narrow beam, suitable for monitoring one traffic lane at 100 feet or Wide beam, suitable for monitoring four traffic lanes at 40 feet. Custom beam widths are available.

WASHDOWN LED SPOTLIGHTS

Unlike fluorescent spotlights, these LED illuminators have a long life and will not degrade over time. Metaphase’s LED spotlight provides low cost, washdown illumination. These illuminators are available in a variety of beam angles and optimal working distances and are encased in a rugged waterproof housing that can stand up to high-pressure washdown environments. The standard spotlight has a ±16° (Medium) beam angle (i.e. 1.1m coverage at a 4.0m working distance). Other beam angles include ±12°(Narrow) and ±25°(Wide).

BORDER PATROL LIGHT

The Metaphase Border Patrol Light is a customized version of our Law Enforcement Light. The BPL is designed with many features for surveillance and security checkpoint monitoring. The BPL has two separate LED arrays that can be selected with different color LED’s including Infrared.  The Border Patrol Light features a weatherproof enclosure with a powder coated hood. Other features include an adjustable beam angle for one LED section. Strobe pulse widths are adjustable from 2µs to 250µs with pulse rates up to 50kHz. Strobe controls include intensity, strobe rate, trigger delay, etc.  Integrated mounting hardware is included to assist with installation in virtually any environment. The Border Patrol Light can be triggered remotely via a camera’s strobe output signal.  Our thermal management technology assures an ultra-fast recharge to allow the strobe to fire at rates up to 50kHz for high-speed digital photography or video.

The UL Line Light is the latest design in the Metaphase family of LED lights for line scan. Its narrow, structured beam delivers high intensity and concentrated light for the narrow field of view of a traditional line scan camera.

SWIR LINE SCAN

The SWIR Line Light is the latest design in the Metaphase family of LED lights for line scan. Its narrow, structured beam delivers high intensity and concentrated light for the narrow field of view of a traditional line scan camera. The high intensity and uniformity allows the SWIR Line Light to be used as front light to inspect for material defects, angled to obtain an off-axis effect to highlight surface defects, or it may be placed beneath the object for a backlight effect to inspect for holes, voids, or contaminants.

METABRIGHT™ LINE LIGHTS

The MetaBright™ Line Light is another product in the Metaphase family of LED lights for line scan. Its narrow, structured beam delivers high intensity and concentrated light for a narrow field of view. The high-intensity and uniformity allows the MetaBright™ Line Light to be used as front light to inspect for material defects, angled to obtain an off-axis effect to highlight surface defects or it may be placed beneath the object for a backlight effect to inspect for holes, voids, or contaminants. The MetaBright™ Line Light is available White, Red, Green, Blue, IR, and UVL with independent intensity control.

HIGH-POWER, NARROW-WIDTH COMPACT DIFFUSED TUBE LIGHT

The Narrow Width High Power Compact Diffused Tube line light is one of the best kept secrets in line scan. It is a low profile, narrow body version of Metaphase’s diffused tube line light with an aperture designed for line scan applications. Our High-Power version boasts brightness three times greater than the standard power Compact Diffused Tube Line Light. Its diffused and multi-directional light output makes this light ideal for inspecting highly specular objects. The CDT allows you to see beyond clear plastic and illuminates the product with minimal glare and feedback from the plastic wrap. With its highly diffused light output you can image metallic materials and curved items with minimal glare or hot spotting.

OBLIQUE LINE LIGHT

The Metaphase Oblique Line Light is designed with unique angled LEDs to project light at a 20-degree angle. The angled light makes the OLL great for creating a dark field/off-axis effect for line scan and area scan applications or for wrinkle detection. Using high output LED technology, the Oblique Line Light produces high intensity lighting needed for high- speed imaging.

DIFFUSED AXIAL LINE LIGHT

Metaphase Diffused Axial Line Lights use beam-splitter technology to radiate homogenous, coaxial illumination in line with the camera aperture. Diffused coaxial lighting eliminates dark spots or shadows inherent in other forms of illumination. Equipped with multiple tapped holes for mounting, the MB-DALL can be easily integrated into existing vision systems. An advanced thermal management system ensures a long lifetime and cost effectiveness. The MB-DALL is also available with strobe and dimming options.

ECLIPSER™ - DARK FIELD LINE LIGHT

The Metaphase Technologies Eclipser™, is a unique LED back line light for improved detection of imperfections in optically clear materials that previously couldn’t be seen with traditional line scan illumination techniques. The Eclipser™ LED illuminator uses strategically positioned LEDs with innovative optics to highlight sub-pixel defects such as gels, unmelts, stones and contaminants.

Using Metaphase’s proprietary optics, the Collimated Line Light works like a traditional line light but can project its light at a lower divergence angle. This helps keep a tight, structured beam of light at longer working distances, possibly many meters away while delivering high intensity light. This works great for applications where you cannot have the light close to the object or web. These features are useful for creating clearances for robotics, imaging high tunnel ceilings, creating distances from hot objects, or applications requiring precise backlight imaging. The Collimated Line Light is a great tool for any line scan or machine vision lighting application.

RING

WASHDOWN RING LIGHT

The Metaphase Washdown Ring Light offers high intensity, shadow-less illumination with five times the lifetime over fluorescents. Ring lights are essential for lighting specular or diffused surfaces. The MetaBright™ Washdown Ring Light is built with high density LEDs that create bright illumination of surfaces for a wide spectrum of inspection purposes.

The Metaphase near axial Ring Lights offer high intensity, shadow-less illumination with five times the lifetime over fluorescents. The MetaBright™ near axial Ring Lights are built with high density LEDs that create bright illumination of surfaces for a wide spectrum of inspection purposes.

These Ring Lights are specially designed to project and even 360° overlapping ring of light from camera to lens. In most front lighting applications, the near axial Ring Light is a simple, low cost solution to camera lighting.

The near axial Ring Light is machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum and employs Metaphase’s proprietary thermal management technology to dissipate internal die temperature.

OFF-AXIS RING LIGHTS

Off-Axis Ring Lights provide a low angle plane of light which is useful for highlighting surface defects, illuminating specular surfaces, and side-lighting prominent target features.

Dark field illumination provides high contrast lighting for detecting stress, defects, fingerprints, edges, dust etc. When the dark field light is placed above an object, intense light will appear at the edges and imperfections will be accentuated in a high-contrast manner.
